Caracas is identified by a symbol. A chain of mountains known as the Ávila, which gives protection to us who live in Caracas. It offers a sense of hope. It challenges a landscape photographer’s discipline as the aim should not be a beautiful postcard but an interpretation of what is in front of us and shows the relation we have with a landscape and how we feel about it, how it affects us. “The Ávila is Blue” is a series of 13 photographs taken with a Polaroid 600 SE camera using Polaroid 667 black and white instant negative film.
