Tori Day

Tori Day paints portraits of humble everyday objects from both the natural world and domestic settings and is particularly drawn to things that have lived a lot: the dented, scratched, chipped, rusty and careworn. Many of her most recent works are painted on nineteenth-century floorboards salvaged from Georgian houses in Brighton and are inscribed with over 150 years of people’s lives being lived out upon them.
