Matt Noir

Matt Noir is a Brighton painter, who studied Fine Art BA at Bath School of Art & Design. New to AOH exhibiting work from his previous Gallery 40 show ‘Conversation Pieces’ and his winning entry for the 2015 Brighton Gin Art Prize.

Matt Noir’s paintings continue the tradition of the ‘Still Life’. Focusing on the symbolic power of objects which have traversed from the once commonplace to a new iconographic status. Using juxtaposition and composition of objects to create conversations and narratives derived from the viewer’s relationship to the objects, evoking the familiar unrest of an eclectic world of past, present and a possible future.
