This wide mouthed bottle was wood fired for a day in an open pit after a copper solution and some copper wire had been applied. The resulting marks on the pot are from the wood smoke (blacks and greys) and the copper (reds and black lines).

The stoneware clay vessel has a smokey black natural clay finish on the underneath side. The inside walls of this piece have a textured finish with the natural smokey black clay. The white crackle glaze on the outside of the vessel is broken with several intersecting smokey black lines. The inside bottom surface has a matching white crackle glaze. Parts of the glazed areas have a slight blush of pink that has come through where the glaze has interacted with the iron in the clay. This piece is not food safe.

I love drawing the flowing lines of the South Downs onto the smooth surface of this porcelain mug. Rolling fields, fences and pylons; the big sky, all to daydream with while having a cuppa.

This stoneware salad bowl is glazed in tones of grey and smoky blue as part of my ‘shades of flint’ range. Lines in a rich rusty hue spiral around the edge. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
