I am an interdisciplinary Fine Artist working both in Brighton and London. My studio practice celebrates physicality of ‘ a human’ and the transcendental values of perpetual -print-imprint action in our beautiful existence.
I curated selection of works specially for an ‘Artist Open Houses’ in my temporary studio at the heart of Hove. Exhibition is titled ‘The Spectacle’.
Presented works responding to the roles which our mind performs in every day life, and where physical body reduces itself to a performing container….
Over the past years I embraced the ‘human condition’ with a variety of perspectives, I looked at the ever-changing ‘being’ from outside and inside of the body but also from the point of chemical reactions, spirit and mind.
My working process begin with an idea, philosophy or a problem of a social scale. It often comes from a need to understand and unlock creative possibility of improvement.
I tend to build the set or a performance, I record it as an interim enabling to familiarise me with the issue.
For example in presented ‘Love Chemicals’ – part of the photography painting series – I have photographed a couple in they first stages of a romance. I paint over the photographs registering future fazes of this affair, until it’s end. I explored brain chemical reactions in the states of this infatuation.
…My works often refers to existential issues that is why I find important to closely exam it with my hermetic process. Subsequently recorded material begins further transformation into a new subject of meanings. It becomes detached mixture of an object and a memory filtered through the scientific, cultural, mythological and symbolic lenses. Then I collage it and present as a gift wrapped upon with a question of alternative future solution.
