Ewan McDougall is a New Zealand painter who has painted full-time since the late 1980s [80 solo exhibitions, including Public Gallery shows]. He has exhibited in London [Rebecca Hossack Gallery], Valencia, Cremona City, New York City and Australia. He is a prizewinner and finalist in many NZ Art Awards and has paintings in 8 public collections including the Sir James Wallace Collection.
He prizes lurid colour, spontaneity, wild figures and a dose of fun and dark humor referring to his rock’n’roll life in the 60s and 70s.
