AOH artist Catherine Grimaldi – Behind the Door

I’m Catherine Grimaldi, an artist working in painting and textiles. This winter I am excited to be sharing a new body of work called ‘Caves of the Imagination‘ abstracted paintings drawing on inspiration from travels to the cenotes (swimming sink holes) in Mexico as well as the famous Dordoyne Valley of caves in France. Alongside this I am showing handmade wall art – all super vibrant and made to help keep you warm this winter.

I have a studio at Robertson Yard in Brighton which is a super inspiring community of artists. The journey along the seafront on my red bike, drinking tea with friends and travelling of course all bring me energy and inspiration to draw upon. My talented partner in crime, Rich will be showing some of his beautiful photos as well as baking! I love the happy accidents that happen upon the way during the Artists Open Houses – you never know who is going to walk through your front door. I am hoping that a gallery offer me an exhibition this year!”
