2nd Weekend!

The winds of storm Clodagh may have blown wildly this weekend, but it didn’t keep Christmas Artists Open House explorers getting out and discovering
more great art and craft this weekend.  @handmadebyhippo reported on twitter that Salon Des Sources in Seven Dials had queues outside before opening as did Studio Loo (no 5) in Hove.  Great Stuff!

Highlights from the second weekend include the two Mews:  the opening of Albert Mews Studio (no 9) off Second Avenue in Hove and Mews Art Studio on Chapel Mews.  Both were abuzz with visitors and were warm retreats from the blustery weather. Some stand out gift ideas at each with great ceramics by Goscia,,and and accessories being in strong ….I’m still thinking about the snowflake tights by Hose.

Other openings were at Whichelo Place (no 26) and at Lunamoon and Friends (no 28). Whichelo Place has got some amazing ceramics for sale that are from her old stock at the back of the house, all for £5. Plus her son Zack is an amazing sales person!! He is selling some made by himself for Rocking Horse Charity.

Off Waterloo Street is the Christmas Boutique at Cross Street Arts (no 18). This cozy, colourful space is full of textiles and some great prints and jewellery. It’s hard to leave empty handed.

Giving art for Christmas is never a bad idea and there is a lot to choose from.  Check out Kellie Miller Fine Art (no 22) in the centre of town, Cameron Contemporary Art (no 11) in Hove or Marlborough Street Artists (no 21.)  It’s worth popping into the Oriental Boutique Hotel (no 20) just to check out the lounge, where some great Brighton inspired prints by are available.  And Francesca Grace McLeod (no 19) has some stunning works on aluminium in a beautiful setting.
