AOH 2024 Winter Festival
Weekends: Nov/Dec 30&1, 7&8, 14&15
The Winter festival starts this weekend!
Winter festival Open Houses
The Winter Artists Open Houses will be here again this festive season, with over 50 houses to explore right across Brighton & Hove and beyond. For three weekends, the whole city and beyond will be coming alive with arts, crafts and seasonal gifts, displayed in a vast array of artists’ and makers’ own homes and studios.
The focus of the Winter festival is Christmas, with venues selling a range of artworks and handmade crafts as unique gifts. Many houses also offer a glass of something mulled, as well as the opportunity to meet the makers – all in all, a perfect outing for a winter weekend.
This winter, you can also discover a 24-hour live performance (in a location to be revealed!); visit a wood cabin at sunset to view an illuminated audio-visual installation, inspired by the underwater world; see daring creatives and visionary street artists channelling the chaotic pulse of the city; and view work exploring ideas on consumption and plastic waste.
Visit the Open Houses to discover new ideas, arts and crafts from Sussex creatives, meet members of the local arts community and support a fantastic range of artists and makers across the city and beyond.
Simply look at the listings online and plan your route for a great day out exploring all areas of the city, from West Hove to Rottingdean and beyond. Also, follow us on social media.
Artists: wherever you live, you can sign up to our Artists Seeking Houses directory, so that Open Houses looking for artists and makers to exhibit with them can invite you to take part as a ‘guest artist’ in their Open House.

Whether you’re just starting out in your career, returning after a break, or are a professional and established artist, the Artists Open Houses is a great place to exhibit and be noticed.
“Artists Open Houses connect artists and makers with an audience of art-lovers, buyers and industry professionals – and is also fun to take part in, exhibiting with your friends in your own home.”
Judy Stevens, Artists Open Houses Festival Director
