Isabela de Vasques

This painting follows an art research based on Thoreau's essay "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience", originated last year at an Open Plan residency at the Towner Gallery. The artwork expands in colours and movement. It has layers of intense brush marks built over gestures of wildness and freedom.
