Holly Bell CeramicsMy work is an exploration of the colours, textures and patterns found in the coastal landscape; I am particularly inspired by the shapes and patterns found in organisms such as lichens, mosses and fungi , and surfaces like tree bark and feathers. I use traditional ceramic techniques to create vessels that are abstracted landscapes, building up rich surfaces with a variety of glazes, slips and engobes. I mix my own glazes and slips, which allows me the control to create a calm coastal palette.
