Philip studied architecture at Brighton Art School. His practice in his home county of Sussex was assisted by undertaking perspective commissions, several that were exhibited at the RA. He won seven awards for his architecture but in his heart he always wanted to sit in a field or his studio and gallery (that he built in Westmeston) and paint with fluid watercolour. His passion is to capture the fleeting light in this media.
