Kate is an abstract painter who works from her studio in Hove, regularly exhibits in Sussex, London and in the Brighton Festival Artists open houses.I paint hoping to chronicle, capture and represent my internal and sensory world, memories of places, and my experiences. Music helps me locate a state of flow and tap into a place where I dialogue with the painting. The imagery is unearthed intuitively through drawing, layers and gestures, additions and subtractions, and colour, of course, all this helps bring me to a place of raw equilibrium, where the conversation ends (not always permanently!).
