My venue is a late 1800’s, two up, two down, terraced rail workers house, in Hanover. Being so close to the sea, the house and I come face to face with the elements. It is the perfect place to hole up, start a new way of working, and embark on an artistic adventure.
My art is inspired by my favourite things: paintings, photographs, music, theatre, nature, ceramics, discarded bits and pieces and religious iconography. Over the past two decades I have made ceramics, books, paintings, photographs, knitted clothes and worked as a magazine art director. My work is an attempt to make something beautiful and lovable out of the unlovable – this is the first time it has been exhibited.
