Ash Whiting

I have a fascination with geometric forms, based loosely on urban environments. My painting is concerned with working within a relatively strict process, layering forms, each layer suggesting what is to come next. I am influenced by early modernism, hard edged and post-painterly abstraction. I’m fascinated by the tension that arises between sharp-edged forms and a loosely painted surface.
