Jane is a figurative artist, painting portraits and landscapes in oils. She won AOH Artist of the Year in 2019 and has been shortlisted for various open art competitions.

Jane is an expressive artist who prefers to work with models or on location. Her aim in portrait painting is to convey a sense of individuality, presence and inner life.

Jane has degrees from the Universities of Kent and Sussex, and a PhD in art history from Sussex. She has worked in universities for many years, and has studied at the New School of Art and St Andrews Place Art School in Lewes. She is a Fiveways Artists Group member.

Jane has exhibited previously with art groups in Brighton and Lewes. This is her first online solo exhibition.

Jane’s first love is portrait painting and life drawing, and she welcomes commissions.
