Diane Rogers

Brighton textile artist

My inspiration comes from nature and the natural environment, being drawn to the beauty, caused by the passage of time , exposure to the natural elements and the influences of man upon our natural spaces. Destruction, weathering and decay, reveal interesting shapes, colours, textures and patterns, to fascinate and inspire. My photographic images are used as reference to hand paint , or are printed directly onto silk. Hand embroidery, free machine stitching and quilting, creates texture and raised areas in relief.
