Faye Bridgwater

Inspired by the Sussex landscape and coastline, Faye’s paintings capture those fleeting moments of light, movement and feeling. They are painted using objects found on beach-combing adventures, from fisherman’s knots and driftwood to feathers. These tactile objects are used as tools, such as brushes to mark-make, print and scratch the paintings. Together with the layering of paint and ink, the technique produces contemporary sea and landscapes with muted tones and bold movements. The paintings are timeless and seem to conjure distant memories.
