In response to the challenge of physical isolation that COVID- 19 pandemic brought, Victoria found inspiration in the simple yet profound act of looking through windows. This newfound perspective sparked the beginning of her ongoing series of window paintings. With deft strokes of oil paint, she captures the play of light on glass, the soft contours of curtains, and the ever-changing world beyond.
Feeding into a dialogue of real and imagined domestic lives, her work beckons viewers to peer into or out from these windows, evoking a sense of longing, nostalgia and hope.
In addition to her captivating window paintings, Victoria Homewood’s portfolio also includes a diverse range of work, including pencil studies and plein air oil paintings of the Sussex Downs showcasing her versatility as an artist.
