Victoria Thomas

I’m Victoria Thomas, an Australian-born artist living and creating in Brighton. I grew up by the beaches of Australia, and the ocean has always felt like home — a place of freedom, perspective and return. After many years away from making art, I found my way back to creativity through a period of deep personal reflection. Painting the sea became a way of finding stillness, and from there my practice expanded into natural shells, gilded edges, symbolic animals, words and small intuitive messages.

I now work across two connected strands: sculptural shell assemblages and atmospheric coastal paintings. Motherhood, memory, my Australian roots, nature and the inner journey all find their way into the work — sometimes playfully, sometimes spiritually, but always with the hope of creating something that brings beauty, calm and feeling into a space.

For me, creating is a way of listening inward — and a little map back to what matters.
