FUN WITH STONE
Times: 10-5pm
Discover the art of stone sculpting – the African way. Using serpentine stone sourced from opencast quarries in Zimbabwe, Brett Banks – steeped in African carving techniques for over 20 years – will guide you through the process.
These final workshops, held in AfricArt’s sculpture garden, have been a much-loved feature of the Brighton Open Houses for the past 30 years. We cater for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced sculptors. Children aged 10+ are also welcome.
This is a hands-on class, without much theorising but lots of fun. Participants can draw inspiration from the sculptures displayed throughout the house and garden during our Open House exhibition -our last one ever.
