FourFree, in their 12th year, have now relocated from Dymocks Studio to a charming studio and garden at the start of an artistic hub of interconnected gardens and studios. In the garden, the other Miranda Ellis’s light-catching glass contrasts with Jane  Sarre’s refined and minimal sculpture and the beautiful and quirky garden ironwork of Richard Heanley. Ditchling Beacon is painted during lockdown. It shows the beacon plateau stretching east in an eery red , yellow and brown palette. These colours are intense, sombre yet glowing and express the relief of reaching a space without boundaries.
