This painting explores landscapes and nature that provoke feelings of nostalgia and escapism. I have started visiting Lidos around the country. The Lido in this painting is instantly recognisable of the place but is void of people.

This is a small collage work made on the inside of half a vintage book cover. The base paper is of an aged tint. In the upper half of the work there are numerous small scraps of coloured and patterned paper from various sources such as newspaper and picture books stuck down with glue. Some elements of text can be seen. A larger cut out containing a wasp has been stuck over these smaller pieces and a squiggled hand drawn pencil line joins the wasps lower right leg and heads off to towards the lower right hand side of the book cover and off the page, appearing to follow the wasps journey to its resting place.
