21 Rex Ashlock Retrospective

30 Guildford Street, Brighton, BN1 3LS

This Open House, now in its fifth year, is dedicated to Rex Ashlock (1918-1999), an American artist who worked and taught mainly in New York and California, with family in Sussex since 1978. The sea, which the artist painted throughout his life, will play through and around the paintings on view this year. These will include early representational canvasses as well as later dancers and ‘dancing abstracts’. There will also be a browser with works ranging from nudes to Chinese calligraphy.
