Collective Memories is a group exhibition by seven artists from Studio 28a. Spanning ages 22 to 60, the artists work across abstraction, portraiture, collage, pattern and landscape.

The show explores memory as shared material; personal histories of migration, love, grief, rituals and places. Some works are precise and controlled, others are blurred and atmospheric. This show creates a dialogue between different lives and disciplines. No single narrative dominates, instead, the exhibition invites you to recognise fragments of your own story within theirs.

This is a vertically oriented painting filled edge to edge with repeating plant-like forms set against a deep green background. From top to bottom, tall, evenly spaced stems run in parallel lines. Each stem is painted in a slightly lighter green than the background and has small diagonal offshoots, forming a simple leaf pattern that repeats consistently across the surface. Along each stem hang rows of small circular dots. The dots vary in colour, including pink, pale blue, white, yellow and red. Many are layered, with one colour nested inside another, creating a target-like effect. The repetition creates a rhythmic pattern, almost like rows of beads or seeds suspended in vertical strands. The overall feeling is dense, ordered and vibrant, with strong contrast between the rich green ground and the bright, playful dots.

This painting shows three fish arranged side by side on a large round plate. The plate fills most of the image and is painted in soft cream and pale yellow tones, with loose visible brushstrokes. The fish lie diagonally from the lower left toward the upper right. Their bodies are long and slender. They are painted in bold blues with touches of orange, red and white highlighting their scales and contours. Their eyes are round and alert, facing upward. The tails angle slightly outward, creating a gentle fan shape. The background is patterned with vertical red stripes over a pale pink surface. The stripes drip downward, giving a sense of movement and fluidity. The overall style is expressive rather than realistic, with strong colour contrast and visible brush marks that give the scene energy and warmth.
