Lee Miller and Fashion: hand Grenades like Cartier Clips
Fashion and Surrealism shaped Lee Miller’s unique way of seeing the world.
Starting out as a fashion model, posing for some of the top photographers in 1920s America, Lee went on to become a fashion photographer in her own right. She then metamorphosed into a WWII correspondent and combat photographer, before returning to her role as a photographer at British Vogue, producing distinctive and witty images in the post-war years.
This highly illustrated presentation explores the influence of fashion on Lee’s career.
Written and presented by her son Antony Penrose with Lee’s words spoken by her granddaughter.
