So much inspiration comes from this brilliant, vibrant city we live in. It’s colours, the people, it’s landscapes and it’s seascapes. Lock down has given me the opportunity to pause, pay attention, refocus and to look no further than home for inspiration.
My background is in fashion and textiles which influences my work hugely. I like to layer and create texture with paint and use college and embroidery on canvas.
I’m drawn to colour, it’s often the first thing that sparks an idea for a painting. More specifically it’s displaced colours. Neon bouys in the sea or pops of brightly coloured swimming hats on a grey day or a dreamy 1960’s print I’ve seen in a vintage shop.
