The Adelaide Salon: 24-Hour Performance Art Live Marathon in Brighton
Brighton, UK – 7 December 2024 – The Adelaide Salon is proud to announce “The Adelaide Salon: 24-Hour Performance Art”, a groundbreaking event that will take place from 1pm on Saturday, 7 December 2024, to 4pm on Sunday, 8 December 2024, in the heart of Brighton.
Hosted in a prime public-facing window on the New Road BN1 1UG – next to the Corn Exchange.
This unique performance art event brings together artists from across the UK for a non-stop, 24-hour live Performance Art.
Each performer will take the stage one after another, offering Brighton’s residents and visitors an extraordinary experience that pushes the boundaries of performance art.
This free-to-view spectacle will also be streamed live on You Tube @Theadelaidesalon, allowing audiences far and wide to witness the creative energy emanating from Brighton’s
Each participating artist will present a unique performance that responds to themes and subjects rooted in their own practice. The underlying concept points to the shape of society, within the context of the Christmas period in England. Attitudes juxtaposed to the world geo-political / climate situation.
This project investigate the boundaries between the performance art, performative arts, entertainment, voyeurism and consumerism. Which is why this collection of continuous performances will be displayed in a ‘shop window’, without the possibility for the audience to enter the space. In the highly consumer focused pre-Christmas period, this performance project will act as a disruptor and commentator, being recorded and live streamed throughout the whole 24 hour period.
In the shop window each artist will have a QR code leading the audience to informal materials related to the artist and the performance.
