Wolfram Löhr and designer Sarah Gardner run a highly successful, established family business from their spacious workshop in Brighton & Hove.

The Wolfram Löhr brand of high-end leather goods, in premium vegetable tanned leathers, draw inspiration from classic and vintage designs, which are combined with an exciting contemporary twist.

A master leatherworker, Wolfram Löhr is a true craftsman in the traditional sense. The “well used” bag represents his concept of making: the old railway postbag or utility item, which was made to last. Wolfram Löhr’s handsome, handmade leather goods are fine examples of modern craft products, which gain even more character with age. They are essential items for the man seeking a classic, understated look.

Alongside custom made items, Wolfram Löhr creates bespoke bags, wallets and accessories to suit specific requirements, working with individual customers to find the best solutions for their ideas.

Wolfram Löhr can adapt existing product designs to a customer’s choice of leather, colours and stitch detailing; sizing can be altered on certain designs and accessories can be personalised with embossed names or initials.

Vegetable tanned hides are purchased from carefully selected merchants in the UK and Germany, and most of the leather comes from Italy. When choosing hides for products, Wolfram and Sarah consider the life of the leather and how it will age. Wolfram Löhr has recently introduced a range using hides from Britain’s only remaining traditional oak bark tannery, J&FJ Baker in Devonshire, which hand finishes each piece of leather with a special blend of natural oils and greases to emphasise the grain and colour of the hide.
