Julie Clark

My works are one off, unique captured moments. Expressions of poignant memories inspired by the sea. I use an oil based monotype technique which allows me to be painterly and spontaneous whilst responsive to the process of discovery and surprise as each unique image evolves.

Working from the sea whilst travelling and sailing, I have found myself in unexpected, sometimes challenging conditions, such as tropical storms and sudden, unexpected changes in the weather. It is often these moments, which offer me the most provoking subject matter.

I studied Painting in Edinburgh and have exhibited across the UK. My work sold well at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea this Autumn and I am exhibiting at Number 10, so do come along!
