Carlos Sanchez
Carlos has worked as a jeweller since 2005. His work is characterised by continuous experimentation. His pieces fulfil an intuitive sense of what the raw material can become. For Encounters 2018 theme, he shows a piece called (Im)pact. It shows South America: naturally green and brown, in harmony. But, should this piece touched excessively, then the green will wear away and become like a barren land. (Im)pact is a metaphor for our violation of a fundamental pact. He says, “Our collective intent has been to make an impact without a pact.”
