AOH Winter 2025 Festival weekends:
November 29th & 30th | December 6&7 | 13&14

See what’s on

Brochures are out around town  now!

Brighton and Hove’s Winter Artists Open Houses are here again – and bigger than ever this year, with over 60 houses stretching across the city along the coast and beyond. For three weekends, you will find every area of the city brimming with original arts and crafts displayed in an array of artists’ and makers’ homes and studios.

The focus of the Winter festival is Christmas, with venues selling a wide range of artworks and handmade crafts as unique gifts, as well as cards, baubles and festive delicacies, but there are always some new surprises too. This winter, while viewing artwork, you can warm yourself in front of a fire with a glass of mulled wine, or sample locally made indie beer from a brewery founded in that very Open House! Also, don’t miss Harriett’s Press Laundry Open House, a charity offering the laundrette’s service users the opportunity to develop their creativity, encouraging community collaboration through artistic engagement – with the resulting artworks displayed within the laundrette.

By buying Christmas gifts from Open Houses, you are helping support local artists’ and makers. You can choose from a fantastic range of work including ceramics, textiles, paintings, jewellery, original prints and many other artworks by both emerging and established artists.

The AOH Winter festival provides a great opportunity to discover new work from Sussex makers whilst meeting members of the local creative community. All in all, a day spent visiting Open Houses is the perfect outing for a winter weekend.

Pick up a brochure and plan your route for a great day out exploring all areas of the city, from West Hove to Rottingdean and beyond. Or take a look for your favourites here at our online listings -and  or follow us on social media.

Whether you’re just starting out in your career, returning after a break, or are a professional and established artist, the Artists Open Houses is a great place to exhibit and be noticed.

“Artists Open Houses connect artists and makers with an audience of art-lovers, buyers and industry professionals – and is also fun to take part in, exhibiting with your friends in your own home.”
Judy Stevens, Artists Open Houses Festival Director
