In my current series of work ‘A Sense of Place’ I am exploring the landscape, incorporating maps into my layered and stitched textiles. Contours, field patterns and architectural features are depicted in my designs combining layered and textured fabrics with freehand machine embroidery. My new book ‘Layer, Paint and Stitch’ gives inspiration to experiment with fabric, paint and stitch to create individual designs. I offer courses and workshops on freehand machine embroidery and related textile techniques.
