Step into a World of Wonder with Sarah Arnett and Vivienne Ridley
This May, we invite you to an extraordinary, one-day creative experience at The Little Picture Palace, hosted by two incredible artists — Sarah Arnett and Vivienne Ridley — as part of the Artists Open House festival.
Join us for a truly magical workshop where creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling come to life. Together, Sarah and Vivienne will guide you through a day designed to ignite your imagination and leave you with two beautiful, handcrafted treasures of your own.

Create Your Own Cabinet of Curiosities
Under the expert guidance of Sarah Arnett, you will transform a blank, glass-fronted cabinet into a unique artwork — a cabinet of curiosities to house your dreams and discoveries.
Using an abundance of glorious materials, including shimmering gold leaf, beads, and a treasure trove of tiny wonders, you will also create a bespoke piece of collage art to sit proudly inside your cabinet. Sarah will help you weave together colour, pattern, and story, crafting a miniature world that reflects your imagination.

Design and Craft Unique Jewellery
In the second half of the day, Vivienne Ridley will lead you into the world of jewellery-making.
Learn traditional techniques as you create your own pair of beautiful, one-off earrings. Using carefully sourced vintage elements, beads, and contemporary findings, Vivienne will show you how to bring new life to forgotten treasures — crafting pieces that are both timeless and meaningful.

Everything You Need — and More
All materials are included — simply bring your creativity and your excitement.
Throughout the day, enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, cake, and light refreshments to keep you fuelled and inspired.

About Your Hosts
Vivienne Ridley
Vivienne has worked extensively in jewellery design and production since graduating from Sheffield back in the 1980s. Over the years, she has built two successful partnerships, creating handcrafted and small-batch production collections sold nationally and internationally, with stockists including Harrods and the Saatchi Gallery. Her work has been featured in national publications such as The Guardian and The Times across both business and style sections.
Today, Vivienne proudly returns to traditional methods of production, crafting each one-off piece by hand from her studio on the South Coast of England. Passionate about recycling and sustainable design, she sources vintage trinkets — from buttons to single earrings — and reimagines them into contemporary treasures, blending past and present with exquisite skill and care. For Vivienne, every piece carries a whisper of history, ready to start a new story with its next wearer.
Sarah Arnett
Sarah Arnett’s work brings the natural world vividly to life through intricate patterns, lush florals, and vibrant creatures, all infused with rich storytelling. Drawing inspiration from her travels, nature, and diverse cultures, her signature style fuses bold graphic elements with deeply personal narratives.
With a background in woven textiles, Sarah masterfully blends traditional craftsmanship with modern digital techniques — from hand-painting and illustration to tapestry and stitching. Her designs have been sought after by prestigious brands like Dior, Escada, & Liberty, and she has created bespoke projects for hotels and residences around the world. Whether designing fashion, wallpaper, or tableware, Sarah’s work transforms everyday life into something vividly dreamlike and full of wonder.
