Spoon Carving Demonstration
Times: 11am - 2pm
On Sunday 5th May 11am – 2pm Annie will be demonstrating her spoon carving techniques and tools. During this session you will see her process as well as be able to ask questions. This is a lovely mediative practice that is a joy to watch and Annie’s passion for making is infectious. There are also cakes and drinks to purchase while you sit back and enjoy watching Annie demonstrate her craft.
Annie is a designer and maker. Her practice is an exploration of the familiar form we know to be the spoon. An object rooted in utility and of daily ritual that represents something positive. Slowly and with full focus she concerns herself with refining and continually assessing the objects, how people will interact with them, balance and craftsmanship.
She uses traditional hand tools and works in a variety of locally sourced green wood in Sussex. She is a visiting tutor at West Dean College, Sussex University, Product Design and also teaches privately.
