Semi-abstract paintings, hand-pulled prints and sketchbooks inspired by the ephemeral nature of light throughout the seasons. Clare aims to evoke the energy of a living, breathing landscape. She studied at Wimbledon School of Art and Goldsmiths University and more recently at the Curwen Print Centre under Stanley Jones. Clare exhibits around the UK and was recently awarded the Escoda Barcelona Award by the Royal Institute Of Artists Painting In Watercolours.

Into The Blue

I created this piece during lockdown and is part of my 'Hope' series. I walk my dog, Poppy, along the coast every day, and watching the way the light changes is what really excites me. Back in my garden studio, I respond to the memory and the feel of my walks by creating subtle layers of paint, collage, and drawn lines, sometimes over weeks.

The tiny spring flowers really captured my attention, jostling for position in the gentle dappled light.
